President Donald Trump has given his first extended public comments since the midterms. His words Wednesday weren't about the Republican Party’s election wipeout but justifying his building a sprawling White House ballroom. Trump invited reporters into a cavernous construction site and talked for nearly 20 minutes about the building project. He didn't mention the Republican defeats around the country the night before. Trump’s continued heavy focus on the building project comes as midterm voters said they thought he was concentrating on the wrong issues during this year’s campaign.
