President Donald Trump's White House chief of staff, Susie Wiles, is stepping down and will be replaced by Stephen Miller, a key member of Trump’s inner circle. Wiles' departure comes after midterm elections that saw major Republican losses. She is Trump’s longest-serving chief of staff and the first woman ever to hold the position. Wiles also led Trump's 2024 presidential campaign to victory. She is known as a behind-the-scenes operator who rarely speaks publicly. But Wiles became the headline last year when Vanity Fair magazine published a series of interviews with her and other top Trump administration officials. Her comments stood out for their candor, including her saying Trump had an “alcoholic's personality.”
