The Nevada County Sheriff's Office is warning area residents about a recent uptick in scam calls.
The sheriff's office says scammers are making phone calls claiming to be one of their employees and requesting payment for an open warrant.Â
The sheriff's office says they will never call anyone about this.
If you get a call like this or similar, just hang up on the caller and do not engage.
