A few weeks after Dave & Buster's announced that it could allow betting on arcade games, the Nevada Gaming Board has shut down that idea.
Currently, a new Dave & Buster's is under construction at The Summit Mall in south Reno. (There are only two locations in Nevada right now, both in southern part of the state.)
But before that new northern location will even open, enforcement agents have confirmed that the arcade chain has no plans to offer any wagering in the State of Nevada.
Kirk Hendrick, NGCB Chairman, stated that, “The Nevada Gaming Control Board takes a hardline stance against any company that may be engaged in unlicensed gaming. Furthermore, the NGCB consistently opposes activities that could promote underage gambling.”
According to documents obtained by 2 News, plans are to develop an existing lot at The Summit with a new one-story building.
Location proposed in Dave & Buster's building permit filing.
Development will include utility services, grading, hardscaping, paving, sight lighting and landscaping.
Paint N More out of Henderson, Nevada is listed as a contractor on the project.
There is no word yet on when construction might start or when the location is expected to open.
