Several area government offices were closed on Friday in observance of Veterans Day.
City of Reno administrative offices will be closed on Friday, November 10, 2023, in observance of Veterans Day.Â
As a reminder, the City of Reno will host the annual Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 11 at 11:11 a.m. on Virginia Street. Â
City of Reno recreation facilities were also be closed on Friday, November 10. Visit Reno.gov/ParksandRec for more information. However, the Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center and Northwest Pool will be open on Saturday, November 11. Â
The Reno Police Department (RPD) would like to advise the public of these phone and online reporting options:Â
- For all emergencies requiring police, fire or medical response, call or text to 9-1-1. Call if you can, text if you can’t.Â
- For non-emergency assistance from Dispatch, call 775-334-COPS (2677).Â

Most Washoe County offices will be closed Friday, November 10, 2023, in observance of Veterans Day.Â
The following county offices will be closed:Â
- Administrative offices at the Washoe County Complex: 1001 E. Ninth Street, Reno.Â
- All Washoe County Libraries will be closed. Book drops and online services will remain available. Access library hours and online services at www.washoecountylibrary.us.Â
- Regional Animal Services Shelter Operations and Office will be closed, but field operations will continue as normal. Pet redemptions will be available 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday. Â
- Reno Justice Court, Sparks Justice Court, Incline Village Justice Court, and Wadsworth Justice CourtÂ
- The Second Judicial District CourtÂ
- The Washoe County District Attorney’s OfficeÂ
- The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office – All administrative offices will be unavailable. Visiting and cashier remains open, and if citizens need emergency assistance, please call 911 or contact the non-emergency line at 775-785-WCSO (9276).Â
- Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue Headquarters/Fire Prevention and Administrative Offices – 3663 Barron WayÂ
- Northern Nevada Public Health – Clinical services Â

The following county offices will be open:Â
- The Office of the County Clerk at the Washoe County Complex will remain open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for fictitious firm names, notary bond filings and marriage licenses.Â

The RTC is honoring Veterans with free rides on all RTC transit services for everyone on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 10, 2023.
RTC transit will operate on a Sunday-level schedule on Veterans Day. The RTC Regional Connector to Carson City will not operate. To plan your trip, visit rtcwashoe.com/public-transportation.
