Wooster High School was placed on a temporary precautionary lockdown due to nearby police activity on Wednesday.

The Washoe County School District posted the notice on its website at 12:30 p.m. The school has since resumed normal operations.

Reno Police say WCSD School Police alerted them to a possible suspect in this month's shots fired case that happened across the street.

After a short investigation, police learned that the possible suspect was not involved in the case - and the school returned to normal operations.

We have a crew headed to the school right now to get more details.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Less than two weeks ago, another lockdown happened and resulted in the arrest of three teens for their alleged involvement in a shots fired case across the street from the school.

Reno Police say the incident was between two rival groups - and the Regional Gang Unit found a car involved at a home several blocks away from the scene.

Police say they searched the car and the home and found two guns and made three arrests.

A 17-year-old and a 16-year-old were arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

A 14-year-old was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
