REMSA Health is offering emergency courses to people in case they ever find themselves first on the scene.

These courses, such as CPR and first aid, teach a variety of techniques on how to deal with many different situations from allergic reactions to lost limbs.

"This class covers a lot of different information for somebody that is just an initial responder," said Katie Timmons, Education Coordinator at REMSA Health. "Say you're just walking down the street or you're at work. If you're the first one to see something happen, this prepares you for a lot of different incidents. How to respond, how to help out until EMS gets there."

This class uses equipment such as mannequins and other props that are used by emergency medical technicians to train.

There were fake epi-pens, Narcan nasal sprays and tourniquets that were all used in the lesson.

This class is open to the public for people 12 years and older.

Timmons said it touches on so many different things and that children actually enjoy working hands on with all of the equipment.
