A man convicted of first-degree murder will now spend the rest of his life in prison. 

The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says Ray McBride will not be eligible for parole after he shot to death Michael White on Wedekind Road in January 2023. 

JANUARY 2, 2024:

A man recently convicted of first-degree murder is scheduled to be sentenced on February 7th. 

A jury convicted 34-year-old Ray McBride of fatally shooting Michael White on Wedekind Road in January 2023. 

When officers arrived, they found White inside a room, with his three children also inside the home.

The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says during the investigation, it was discovered that the mother of some of the children in the home was in a romantic relationship with McBride and she was pregnant with his child.

Prosecutors say police also determined that White was a friend of the woman’s and that he was visiting her at the home when he was shot to death.

Reno Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting on Wedekind Road late Monday night.

Police say the unidentified victim died on scene.

Police say after everyone involved was interviewed, they arrested 33-year-old Ray McBride on an open murder charge.

The investigation is ongoing.
