The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim of Saturday's fatal shooting as 39-year-old Justin Murphy of Sun Valley.

The shooting happened Saturday  around 1:50 p.m. at the 7-Eleven on Gentry Way and South Virginia Street according to a press release from the Reno Police Department.

Officers arrived at the scene to find Murphy with a gunshot wound.

REMSA provided on scene medical attention and took the him to the hospital where he later died from his injuries despite emergency medical treatment.

Detectives with RPD's Robbery/Homicide Division have taken over the investigation.

Reno Police said there does not appear to be a specific threat to the public as the shooting appears to be an isolated incident between two people.

Reno Police are investigating a shooting in south Reno.

It happened Saturday afternoon at the 7 Eleven at the intersection of Gentry Way and South Virginia Street.

One person was taken to the hospital according to a Reno Police spokesperson.

No further information is yet available about the incident, including the extent of that person's injuries or details on any suspect or suspects.

Gentry Way is closed in both directions west of South Virginia Street according to our crew on scene.
