On March 19th, 2022 volunteers joined the Bureau of Land Management Elko District and the Nevada Department of Wildlife to plant hundreds of sagebrush seedlings.
10,000 seedlings were grown and supplied by the Wells High School FFA program.
The purpose of planting them is to restore the wildlife habitat that was lost from the Cedar Fire.
The seedlings will eventually grow to provide forage for antelope, deer, and elk in the area. It will also prevent erosion of the ecosystem.
