Washoe County is one of the key swing counties that could help sway the outcome of the 2024 presidential election.
That is why Democratic U.S. Senator John Fetterman was the main speaker for the Washoe County Democrats annual "Crabbing with Democrats" event in Reno on Saturday.Â
Senator Fetterman spoke a lot about why Nevadans should vote to re-elect President Biden and Vice President Harris, but he also spoke about the crucial role Nevada plays in the election.
"If you aren't excited about Biden or you are thinking about sitting out, or even throwing away your vote for some rando third, third party, it's like you have made Trump your guy," said Senator John Fetterman.
A large contingency of heavy hitters in the Nevada Democratic Party showed up to rally voters, including Senator Catherine Cortez Masto.
"This is about who we are in Nevada, and what we fight for, and for the people who live here," said Senator Cortez Masto.
They stressed the importance of events like these and getting lawmakers the opportunity to meet face-to-face with everyday Nevadans.
Senator Fetterman told us that he would like to come back to Nevada before the general election in November.Â
