The Storey County Sheriff's Office is warning residents of a text message scam going around.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the scammer will text you and say a USPS package could not be delivered.
The message includes a link, and they will ask you to click it and enter your personal information.
Scammers also may call you asking for money in the form of gift cards, sometimes pretending to be law enforcement.Â
If you receive a text message or call like this, do not click the link, give out your personal information or respond to the scammer.
Instead, call the Storey County Sheriff's Office dispatch at (775) 847-0950 to report the scam.
