Truckee Meadows Fire Crews Mopping up Lightening Strike Fire

Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue crews are working to mop up a fire caused by lightning Thursday night.

They say lightning struck on a hill near Toll Road and Geiger Grade, sending noticeable smoke into the air.

Crews report the fire had burned about 50 acres before they were able to suppress it, with assistance from the air by the Nevada Forestry.

If you see smoke in that area, Truckee Meadows Fire asks that you do not call 911.
