1 p.m. update:Â
Nevada State Police are revealing more details about the preliminary investigation into a deadly crash along U.S. 395 and Lemmon Drive early Saturday morning.Â
According to Nevada Highway Patrol, a man was traveling northbound on U.S. 395 near Lemmon Drive in a pickup truck with an unrestrained passenger.Â
For reasons unknown, the driver failed to stay in the left lane and crossed all the way into the right shoulder of U.S. 395.Â
The pickup then continued into a rock embankment area near the Lemmon Drive overpass and became airborne. It then landed on Lemmon Drive, hit the center median wall, and became airborne again.Â
The passenger, identified as a woman, died at the scene.Â
The driver was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.Â
The investigation is ongoing.
