Washoe County is adding a fence around the North Spanish Springs floodplain detention facility.
The center captures and collects stormwater from the Spanish Springs Valley.
County officials say the perimeter fence will protect the the facility and reduce noise and dust particles.
The construction is scheduled to begin in October.
Off-highway and motorized vehicles will no longer have access, but it will be open to pedestrians.
