Nepal is holding a day of mourning to remember those killed in the Aug. 26 floods. Flags were lowered at government offices, and families concluded mourning rituals. The floods killed more than 1,300 people in Nepal and Tibet and left about 5,000 missing. In Hindu tradition, mourning lasts 13 days, with rituals held on the final day. Several people whose relatives remain missing performed symbolic funerals. Meanwhile, search efforts continue for the missing, but some protested that not enough was being done. Specialized rescue teams from several countries have been searching through debris and damaged structures.
