Nevada Highway Patrol has identified the truck driver killed in a wrong-way head-on crash on I-80 east near Fernley late Sunday night.Â
NHP says a preliminary investigation shows that a blue 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was wrong-way on I-80, traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes. A gold 2002 Ford F-350 pickup truck was traveling eastbound in the left lane where it was struck head-on by the Silverado.
The Silverado driver, 30-year-old Sky Thomas of Oroville died at the scene.Â
The driver of the F-350 was transported with life-threatening injuries.
This crash is being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.) - NHP Case #201101656.
NHP is still investigating the crash and whether drugs, alcohol were involved in the crash.Â
