UPDATE: Both lanes have been reopened to traffic.
A head-on collision has left two drivers with substantial injuries Sunday evening, and has closed all lanes of traffic on Highway 50 near Zephyr Cove.
Both drivers were extricated from their vehicles and all lanes of traffic are expected to be closed for several hours as Nevada Highway Patrol investigates the cause of the crash.
It is unclear if alcohol or impairment is a factor in the crash.
Avoid the area or find alternate routes.
We have a crew on the way to collect more information.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY: All lanes are shut down for a serious injury crash at US-50 and Tall Pines Road (Glenbrook). Careflight is en route. Closure is estimated to last several hours. Avoid the area.
