Power Outages in Northern Nevada Affect 440+ Customers

NV Energy says 5,000+ customers in Northern Nevada are currently without power. 

NV Energy tells us that all of the outages they've responded to have been weather related.

TMCC High School remain closed Tuesday, due to a power outage in that area. Outages also closed several Washoe County Schools. 

From Washoe County: 

The Washoe County Sparks and Sun Valley Senior Centers are closed today due to a power outage.

Seniors who get meals from the Sparks location at 97 Richards Way in Sparks and at the Sun Valley Senior Center at 115 W. 6th Ave. are encouraged to have lunch at the Washoe County Reno Senior Center at E. 9th St. in Reno.

The Washoe County Sparks and Sun Valley Seniors Center are also closed Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day. Seniors can return for their regularly scheduled meals at the Sparks and Sun Valley locations Thursday, Nov. 12.

In addition, the Sparks Library at 1125 12th St. is closed due to a lack of power and isn’t expected to be restored until this afternoon.

The May Arboretum at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park is closed until several damaged trees and limbs can be removed. Rancho is open, but please be careful when walking near trees at any Washoe County park. The heavy snow has caused a lot of damage.
