Naval Air Station Fallon says a U.S. Navy F/A-18A Hornet crashed at the Navy’s Fallon Range Training Complex Tuesday morning. NAS Fallon says the pilot ejected from the aircraft and was recovered safely. It says the pilot is now being evaluated at a local hospital.Â
NAS Fallon says the aircraft crashed in remote mountainous terrain, about 25 miles east of Fallon at approximately 8:30 a.m.
It says the flight was part of a routine training mission conducted by the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center at NAS Fallon.Â
The Navy says an investigation will be conducted to determine a cause of Tuesday morning’s crash.
