Police determined Thursday the death was an accident. No criminal charges will be filed.
ORIGINAL STORY:
A 10-year-old boy died early Wednesday evening after being shot by a 12-year-old boy, Elko police say.
Officers say they responded to a home on the report of a child who was bleeding and was unresponsive, just before 5 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found the wounded 10-year-old.
Paramedics tried to save the boy, but he ultimately died.
Police say a subsequent investigation later revealed that the 12-year-old shot the younger boy.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
