Police Arrest Three Suspects in Deadly Sparks Home Invasion Case

Sparks Police officers say three men have been arrested in connection with a deadly home invasion that happened in January. 

Police say 24-year-old Cody Cains, 23-year-old Jared Wagner and 23-year-old Conor Samuels were all arrested in connection with the case. 

Cains and Samuels were booked into the Washoe County Jail, while Wagner was arrested in Lake County, California. 

Cains and Samuels were both booked on no bail charges of open murder with a deadly weapon, battery resulting in substantial bodily harm, attempted robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary. There's no immediate word on what charges Wagner faces,

Sparks Police say they originally responded to a home in the 900 block of 20th Street on January 22nd and found two men inside the home with extensive injuries. Police say one of the men told them someone broke into the residence and beat them. 

Both victims were taken to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno where 68-year-old Robert McDonald later died. His roommate, 51-year-old Keith Moore continues to recover.
