The Truckee Police Department says a portion of Alder Creek Road, between Schussing Way and Carpenter Valley Road, will be closed Tuesday to both lanes of traffic from 9:00am to 1:00pm.
During this time, the U.S. Forest Service will be installing a large pedestrian bridge on Alder Creek Trail. The goal of this project is to improve recreation access and decrease environmental impacts.
Schussing Way and Fjord Road will be used as a temporary detour while the closure is in place. Road guards will be stationed at Schussing Way and Carpenter Valley Road to direct traffic and answer any questions. Access to Carpenter Valley Road will not be impacted during this road closure.
