Reno Man Sentenced to Prison for Role in Home Burglary, Drive-By Shooting

The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says a Reno man has been sentenced to a decade in prison for his role in a home burglary and drive-by shooting last year.

18-year-old Matthew Lopez was sentenced on Wednesday to 6 years for burglary and 4 years for discharging a firearm into an occupied structure.

He will be eligible for parole in two-and-a-half years and was ordered to pay more than $10,000 in restitution.

Prosecutors say Lopez along with Christian Trigilio and Joe Alfaro... all pleaded guilty.

They were responsible for several home burglaries in the North Valleys in July of last year and fired into a home that contained seven people in order to settle a debt with one of the people inside.

Fortunately, no one in the home was hurt.
