On the afternoon of July 24th, 2016 the pedestrian involved in this crash succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The pedestrian has been identified as: 51 year old Reno resident, James Martin Barrett.
Reno Police Officers responded to the intersection of Center and Maple on the report of a vehicle vs pedestrian traffic crash around 1 a.m. Sunday.
The pedestrian was immediately transported to a local hospital where he is currently being treated for life threatening injuries. Due to the extent of injuries, the Reno Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team responded.
The investigation has revealed that the 51 year-old pedestrian was crossing Maple at Center against a don't walk signal when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle that had a green light. Neither alcohol nor speed appears to be a factor.
