UPDATE: Reno Fire Department (RFD) officials say this fire at the Rosewood Park Apartment Complex is arson.
RFD believes it was set by the same person who set the fires in the Mira Loma area in late September.
Officials are still asking for the public's help in identifying the arsonist.
RFD says statistically serial arsonist will live in or near the area they are setting fires.
This is a developing story and we will update you as we know more.Â
Four cars caught fire early Thursday morning, sparking a larger fire at the Rosewood Park Apartment Complex off Mira Loma Drive.Â
Reno Fire crews say the fire then spread from the four cars to the apartment complex, igniting a small portion of the attic.
Officials say they were able to keep the fire contained to just two of the four apartment units. Thankfully, crews say nobody was living in these units.Â
Crews initiated evacuation orders for the apartment residents, however officials say those residents will now be able to return to their apartments.
Reno Fire officials say there were multiple other car fires being reported at the same time in another nearby apartment complex. Those fires are also put out.
"This seems to be an ongoing problem over the last three weeks. It's premature to say they are related, but they are in the same vicinity," said Reno Fire Department Battalion Chief, Brad Jensen.
If you have an information on any of these South Reno fires, please call the Reno Fire Department.
