The Reno Fire Department (RFD) reports they responded to a possible hazmat situation at the Ponderosa Hotel on Thursday night.
They were receiving complaints of a pepper spray odor from people on the third floor.
They found an orange or red liquid on a white sock in the stairwell, consistent with what RFD was looking for.
Nine people were evaluated and one person was transported to the hospital.
