Channel 2 anchors Wendy Damonte and Kristen Remington helped inspire young people in our community Thursday by joining together with other leaders for the Role Model Summit.
Kristen visited Damonte Ranch High School along with Wooster and North Valleys High and Wendy was with another group that included some athletes who you'll probably recognize.
Five vans are driving throughout Washoe County taking professional athletes and community leaders to every high school in Washoe County
Van 5 started the day at Billinghurst school where the speakers included Brian Polian, Cody Farjardo, Patty Sheehan to name a few... they got the kids so excited at that school and the momentum just continued for Wendy's group at McQueen and later at Spanish Springs High School.
The main purpose of Role Model Summit is to get kids motivated to be the best they can be both in the classroom and out on the playing field to stay off drugs and to be just the best human beings they can possibly be.
The day rounds out with a huge banquet at the Silver Legacy where dozens of kids have been invited to attend to keep the message of being the best you can be going for so many Washoe County students.
