From the Regional Transportation Commission:Â
The RTC is advising drivers to expect delays of up to 30 minutes on Pyramid Way north of Queen Way this week. As part of the Pyramid/McCarran Intersection Improvement project, utilities are being installed. This work will likely result in additional delays. Night work is being limited in order to minimize impacts for nearby residents.
The RTC encourages everyone to: plan ahead and expect delays, drive during off-peak hours and carpool or use transit. Drivers may also consider taking an alternate route, unless they are intending to visit businesses near the intersection, which remain open and accessible.
The Pyramid/McCarran Intersection Improvement Project is on-schedule and slated for completion in spring 2018. The project will add a through lane in each direction on Pyramid Way, dedicated turning lanes on both Pyramid Way and McCarran Boulevard and a new paved multi-use path. The project will enhance safety at this high-crash location, improve air quality by reducing idling vehicles and give everyone transportation choices.
