The Sheriff’s Office Awards Committee awarded 23 Certificates of Commendation, two Distinguished Service Medals, three Sheriff’s Stars, four Lifesaving Medals, 22 Bronze Stars, and one Medal of Valor.  

Washoe County Sheriff Chuck Allen joined almost 50 other Sheriffs from across the nation at an event on Capitol Hill.

For the second weekend in a row, a Washoe County Sheriff’s deputy used his first aid training and a Narcan kit to help treat a person suffering from a drug overdose.  

Washoe County Sheriff Chuck Allen is inviting the public to join him and other local law enforcement on Sunday, for an afternoon of classic cars and burgers, as he hosts the 11th Annual Cops and Burgers Show-N-Shine to benefit Special Olympics Nevada. 

Washoe County Sheriff's Deputies along with Reno and Sparks Police will begin using body worn cameras this Monday, three weeks ahead of the July 1 start date required by state law. 

A standing ovation for longtime Washoe County Reserve Deputy Teresa Aquila happened on Tuesday night, with cheers from some of the community members she's served over the last 41 years.

The "No Shave" campaign lead by the Washoe Country Sheriff's Office raised over four thousand dollars to the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation during the month of March.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Washoe County Sheriff's Office is raising awareness about the issue.
