The Washoe County Sheriff's Office, Citizen Corps is offering emergency preparedness and response training beginning January 17.
Washoe County and several other organizations are asking for volunteers for a sandbag clean-up event in the Swan and Silver Lake areas later this month.
"RAT" stands for the Sheriff's Rail Auxiliary team. They are a team of volunteers specially trained to provide additional safety and security for local railway infrastructure.
