The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in the Carson City District says they are continuing to sell firewood cutting permits at multiple locations.
The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, Carson Ranger District, only has a few Christmas Tree permits left. The Forest Headquarters office in Sparks has sold out. Permits are issued on a first-come, first-serve basis for $10 each in designated cutting areas.
Rangers with the U.S. Forest Service in Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest say they will open dead-tree firewood cutting areas on June 16. Live-tree cutting areas will open on July 21.
