36 members of the Texas National Guard were mobilized to El Paso County, Texas to assist funeral homes and mortuaries in the area. El Paso Mayor Dee Margo says the area has seen a rapid increase in cases and hospitalizations, leading to a spike in deaths.

More than 200 mayors, including the mayors of El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, are urging Senate leaders to call senators back to the Capitol to act on bipartisan gun safety legislation.
