36 members of the Texas National Guard were mobilized to El Paso County, Texas to assist funeral homes and mortuaries in the area.
El Paso Mayor Dee Margo says the area has seen a rapid increase in cases and hospitalizations, leading to a spike in deaths.
Reported in a news release on Friday, the Texas Military will help to carry out the county's fatality management plan.Â
Margo says the county has secured a central morgue location to support the funeral homes and mortuaries with additional capacity.Â
