A state-owned Chinese company is boasting that its employees received doses of an experimental COVID-19 vaccine even before the government approved testing in people.

It's a sad paradox but in some countries, assaults on doctors and medical workers illustrate how public fear and rage can turn against the very people risking their lives to save patients in a pandemic.
