Steamboat by Vintage is finally opening after breaking ground a little over a year ago. City officials are hoping this new housing development will provide some relief, to working families struggling to keep up with rising rent costs. 

If you're familiar with Dayton, then you know the lot behind the Senior Center and Dayton Valley Branch Library has been vacant for quite some time. Well it's not vacant anymore, a new housing development is being built there. Granite Pointe is looking to build around 30 new homes at this location. 

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) reports they are investigating the death of a man near the Chichester housing development.

The development is planned for a vacant lot on Los Altos Parkway, where it intersects with Vista Heights. The proposal is for 75 town homes on a 7.7 acre parcel, which would have to be rezoned for a multi-family development.

Douglas County Commissioners are scheduled to discuss a new housing development in the Gardnerville Ranchos on Tuesday.
