Republicans called Monday’s court decision a victory. Senate and Assembly leaders say the ruling could cost the state nearly $100 million in funding for schools.

A First Judicial District Court Judge has tossed out a petition initiative led by Senate Minority Leader, Michael Roberson. The amendment aimed to prevent any city or county in Nevada from becoming a sanctuary city for undocumented immigrants. 

After Thursday's ruling the Nevada Department of Taxation can begin issuing distribution licensing to qualified applicants beyond just those with alcohol distribution licenses.
