A recent study shows the rate of Americans who smoke has fallen to about 14 percent, nationally.  In Washoe County, that number sits at about 10 percent of adults. While those numbers are an improvement, the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health is looking to lower them, even more. The Nevada Tobacco Quitline is a free and convenient way to help smokers who want to quit--do just that.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that smoking causes more than 480,000 deaths each year in the United States.  According to the CDC the rate of smoking among adults in the U.S has dropped to a level of 15% last year, a 2% drop from 2014.
