The price would make the two-dose vaccine more expensive for cash-paying customers than annual flu shots.

About 261 million Americans have received at least one COVID-19 shot, but only 108 million have received a booster.

If all the regulatory steps are cleared, shots should be available next week.

The Food and Drug Administration will consider the panel's advice and decide whether to authorize the shots.

Pfizer wants to expand its COVID-19 booster shots to healthy 5- to 11-year-olds. 

While other countries allow Moderna vaccinations for older children, the U.S. currently limits them to adults. 

The move could open the way for the very youngest Americans to start receiving shots by early March.
