The Food Bank of Northern Nevada and SCHEELS have teamed up for the SCHEELS Summer of Service this year.
A winner has been crowned in this year's Makerton competition at the University of Nevada, Reno.
If there isn't a winner, the jackpot will inch closer to the record $2.04 billion Powerball prize won last November.
The estimated $1.1 billion jackpot has been growing for more than two months.
There have been 22 straight drawings without a winner.
The jackpot is the largest since a $2.04 billion Powerball prize was won Nov. 8 in California.
The next drawing will be Friday night.
Funding from payroll donations supports educators and students in the classroom where traditional funding sources may not reach otherwise.
The events are free.
Monday night’s scheduled drawing was delayed by nearly 10 hours until Tuesday because a participating lottery had issues processing sales.
