Tropical Storm Jerry has become the 10th named storm of the Atlantic Hurricane Season. It's still far from land, but it's gaining intensity and forward speed on a path to approach the Leeward Islands as a hurricane on Thursday night or Friday.

They said heavy rainfall is expected for Reno, Sparks, Spanish Springs and portions of I-80 east of Reno to Patrick.

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a flash flood watch for portions of western Nevada and the Sierra starting at 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday.  

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Flash Flood Watch until 4 p.m. Wednesday for the Slinkard burn area near Topaz Lake.  

The National Weather Service says due to decreased releases out of Lake Tahoe, flooding is no longer anticipated along the Truckee River through downtown Reno. 

Officials say flood waters are expected to be gone from most of Houston and Harris County by late Friday or early Saturday. 

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Flash Flood Warning for west central Churchill County, Storey County, southern Washoe County and north central Lyon County.

The swollen Seine River kept rising Friday, spilling into Paris streets and forcing one landmark after another to shut down as it surged to its highest levels in nearly 35 years.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for south central Churchill County and north central Mineral County until 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
