Area ski resorts are reporting good results from the storms over the past couple of days.
Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe opened for the season on Friday. There's been some before season opportunities for pass holders this season, but now the resort is open to everyone seven days a week.
Mount Rose Ski Resort saw more than five feet of snowfall over the course of last week, bringing their total snowfall for the year just above 200 inches. That means this storm provided Mt. Rose with more than 25 percent of it's total snowfall for the season up to this point.
The Super Bowl draws a lot of tourists to Reno, and many of the hotels are filled with sports fans, which is good for our local economy.
Many of our ski resorts got around a foot of snow with our latest storm and they couldn't be happier.
