Achievements Unlocked program, developed by the Washoe County Department of Social Services, is changing the educational trajectory of students in foster care. 

The Washoe County School District says schools will be released at the usual times on Monday.  

During our recent legislative session, Senate Bill 302 was passed into law. Simply put, Nevada parents will now have access to public money to pay for their children's private education. But the new move by the state is controversial and somewhat confusing.

Nevada Assembly members have approved a sweeping bill that would allow students to use the state funds designated for their public education at a private school.
