Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District is on scene of the Chimney Fire in Sun Valley in the area of Union Mills Road that started just before 11:30 a.m.
They are reporting forward progress has been stopped after the fire burned about two acres.
No structures were threatened and no roads were closed.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
