The Sparks Police Department released new details on a crash involving a motorcycle near Greg Street and Linda Way on Monday afternoon.
Officials said around 4:35 p.m., a black motorcycle was going eastbound on Greg Street and ran the red light, striking a white SUV going southbound through the intersection on Linda Way.
They said the 33-year-old man on the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
Officials said the driver of the SUV remained on scene and is cooperating with law enforcement.
They said the Major Accident Investigation Team responded and took over the investigation.
