This weekend, hundreds of Special Olympics Athletes will come together for the Northern Nevada Regional Bowling Competition. There will be athletes and coaches from Washoe, Winnemucca, South Lake Tahoe, Lassen, Plumas and Elko.
Athletes' friends and families are invited to watch the athletes compete in this tournament. Medals will be presented for team competition and the individual skills competition.
Also, along with the tournament, Special Olympics Nevada will host a Healthy Athletes Program. This program encourages athlete well-being in a fun environment by offering education on healthy lifestyle choices.
The tournament will take place at the National Bowling Center at 300 North Center Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
