Kate Douglass has broken her own world record in the women’s 50-meter freestyle at the Pan Pacific Championships for the second time Saturday. She swam 23.19 seconds in the final, beating her morning preliminary time of 23.49. Douglass, a five-time Olympic medalist, first set the record in June. Her teammate Gretchen Walsh, who previously held the record, finished second in the final. Jamie Jack of Australia won the men’s 50 free. Yu Yiting of China set a championship record in the women’s 200 individual medley, defeating world record holder Summer McIntosh. Tomoyuki Matushita of Japan won the men’s 200 IM.
