Tesla Motors has expanded its land holdings in Northern Nevada as it continues to build its gigafactory in Storey County.  Â
Tesla confirms it bought almost 2,000 more acres of land near the gigafactory to augment the 1,000 acres it bought last year after solidifying the deal to build the battery factory. However, most of that land won't house structures but will instead serve as a buffer.
Tesla says the purchase gives it room to grow in the future.
