It was a beautiful fall day up on Mt. Rose, but as you know snow and warm weather don't mix too well.
But the sunny skies are not deterring people from hitting the slopes. Mt. Rose officials say its actually doing the exact opposite.
"The sunshine brings the crowds and it's been really fun to see everyone out here having a great time. It's sunshine and smiles it has been a lot of fun," says Siani Nau the Community Relations Manager at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe.
When you think about winter recreation activities you probably think of cold weather, but that's not always the case.
"It's weird being in a sweat shirt... Because normally you don't go to Tahoe, go snowboarding and wear a sweatshirt. That's nice though... light and breezy," says Derek Lau.
Some people were definitely taking full advantage of the sun and were skiing in tank tops.
Who would have thought that you can get a nice tan while shredding down a snowy mountain.
"Get a nice little tan maybe on your face that's about all I can say... You know, what could beat a super sunny day like this?" Says Nick Johnson.
Mt. Rose officials say they're looking forward to cooler temperatures so they can produce fresh powder, and visitors say they can't wait.
"I'm so ready... I'm going to try to be up here at least every weekend. Get a cabin and just shred everyday," says Cameron Carl.
"I like storm days, less people it's harder to see and it scares them off for me," says James Grant.
"I'm definitely excited for fresh snow. That's definitely why we love skiing, it's just the serenity of it, fresh snow and being outdoors with your friends," says Johnson.
Veterans and Active Military can go to Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe and hit the slopes for free Monday, November 11th.
