New Nevada COVID-19 Task Force to Handle Complaints, Fraud Cases

The Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) was not able process bill payments from March 2 to March 8 due to a major upgrade to its customer information system. 

TMWA says the new system will offer customers enhanced water use information and provide more ways to pay bills and save preferred payment options.

If you have scheduled electronic payments or have already mailed in your check, processing will begin again on March 9. TMWA says no late fees will be assessed.

"We feel these changes will definitely make your interactions with TMWA smoother and help you get the most out of the service we provide," says TMWA.

Last week TMWA started the transition to a new Customer Information System.  In order to make a clean transfer, TMWA held the processing of payments from March 2-8.  

Over the weekend all customer records were placed in the new system and it went live this morning.

Today was a day of pushing the new system live and combing through the system to make sure everything has transferred correctly.  It is looking good, and TMWA appreciates our customers' patience through this transition. To note: there will be no late fees assessed during this period.

As part of this process, all customers will be receiving a new account number in the mail in the coming weeks.  TMWA encourages customers to look for this letter from TMWA  as it will include their new account number to make all future payments. It will come in an well-marked envelope that highlights a new account number is enclosed. 

To help customers who may be having an issue making a “one-time bill pay”, we’ve just updated the website at www.tmwa.com/online with additional detail.  These payments can be processed now.  We are grateful for those who have reached out to you as well in order to get their bill paid.  For any customers who need additional help, our customer service team is standing by, M-F from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at 775.834.8080. 

Of note, for those who do not pay online, there will be no change.  Customers just need to wait for their next bill, and all the details they need will be included. 

Lastly, TMWA will start informing our customers about the new CIS system tomorrow morning through  emails and also on social media.
